MISSION STATEMENT: To provide children of our community the opportunity to learn and practice sailing in a fun and safe environment based on US Sailing guiding principles.

OBJECTIVE: Our objective is to not only teach sailing to our community’s youth in a fun manner but to also help them develop a friendly and respectful relationship with the equipment, the club, the water, and most importantly, each other. If there is a demand from our sailing participants to create a sailing team, then we can provide coaching time on the water aimed towards racing techniques stressing rules, sportsmanship and seamanship.
Our hope is that by demonstrating mindfulness and enthusiasm for sailing our young participants will carry this into their adult lives.

Registration for the Summer Youth Sailing Program is scheduled for every Saturday during the month of May at the Key West Sailing Club, 705 Palm Avenue from 10-2.
Stephanie Watkins, Youth Program Director will be available to answer any questions you might have regarding the program.
If you do not have time to come down to the club on Saturday, please feel free to register through the mail with this registration form. Just print the registration form so you can fill it out, sign it and mail it to P.O. Box 828 Key West, Florida 33041-0828 along with your check made out to "Key West Sailing Club". You will need to speak with Stephanie Watkins via email about the session you are interested in before you register through the mail. kwyouthsailing@gmail.com And that's all there is to it!

Once your youngster is registered, Stephanie will be sending out a "Reminder Letter" of all details concerning their time with us at sailing camp.

Come on down to the club on Saturdays so you can see the facility, the boats and have all your questions answered about the program.

We look forward to seeing you this summer, maybe for the first time or maybe for the third or fourth time! Space is limited so sign up early! And yes, scholarships are available for those eligible! We also offer a sibling discount, 10% for each child enrolled.

Stephanie thought she would share with you a recent testimony sent in by one of our parents: When we were down over spring break, as we crossed the bridge, Eli looked down at the club and said, "There's the best place in the world!" PARENTS:
Please arrive on time
Please pick up your sailors on time
Please make sure your sailors are well equipped with what they need to feel safe:
Life Vest (we have some new ones you can borrow from the Club)
Closed toe shoes (no flip flops, crocks are great)
Sunscreen and hat and sunglasses.
Long hair pulled back or out of the way in a hat.
A change of clothes and/or towel for capsizing. (Capsizing is a natural and normal part of dinghy sailing).
Plenty of water to drink!!
